Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
1
I’m not sure if I have a claim? If you have any problems with your local council or housing association property, such as internal or external damage or disrepair and your landlord has failed to put it right, you may have a claim. You should contact your landlord to make the repairs and if they ignore you, fail to fix the issue or the problem re-occurs, you can report them to the Housing Ombudsman for free, or contact us for a free assessment.
2
What is the process of a claim? You will need to get in touch with us first; we can call you back to avoid you incurring charges. You will then speak to one of our specialist advisors who will assess your case. After this, if appropriate, we will arrange for someone to visit your home and take pictures of any damage. Our Solicitors will establish whether you could have a successful claim by providing a free assessment of your housing disrepair. If they believe you have a good case they will contact you to discuss your claim. You can then relax, whilst your solicitor does the rest!
3
Why choose us?Our solicitors have a great knowledge of how to present your case. Together we control the whole process for you, giving you peace of mind that your voice is being heard and taken seriously!
4
What will it cost?We do not charge for assessing your case. We operate a strict 'No Win No fee' policy. If your case loses, it won't cost you a penny. You only pay when your case is successful and the cost would be simply deducted from any compensation you receive. This amount will never exceed 25% of your total compensation. However, the main things is that we will ensure all repairs are carried out by your landlord and we do not deduct anything from the cost of repairs.
